The Applications Systems Manager I will support the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality. The team supports the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality's Division of Water Resources (DWR). DWR is responsible for the environmental protection and quality of the State's surface water, groundwater, and to ensure safe drinking water for its residents. The Applications Systems Manager I is responsible for directing a team of IT analysts and applications developers engaged in the full range of applications design, maintenance, and programming for multiple systems. Duties include, but are not limited, to: Lead and manage IT professionals to ensure they meet their highest potential and together meet the needs of our business partners Solve problems using innovative and creative approaches that comply with security, privacy, and operational rules Facilitate customer success by delivering consistently quality work and strong communication with your team, the DWR team, your leadership, and other stakeholders Manage your team through independent judgment and discretion in overall project management by prioritizing, planning, and tracking work progress Develop and manage the performance of your staff by providing training, goal setting, regular communication, annual reviews, and resolving issues About the Organization The serves as the Technology Center for the State of NC.
