Position Summary
Materials Management (Campus Surplus and Recycling) is seeking student Computer Techs to join a team of students and professional staff that support OSU's sustainability mission by helping to assess, recycle and refurbish a wide range of used computer and electronic equipment.
This recruitment will be used to fill up to 3 part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week)
WHAT'S THE POSITION?This posting will be used to fill up to 3 part-time Computer Tech positions for the department of Materials Management (Campus Recycling and Surplus Property), within Procurement, Contracts & Materials Management (PCMM) at OSU.Join a team of students and professional staff that supports OSU's sustainability mission by collecting, transporting, and organizing a wide range of materials for reuse, recycle and safe disposal.WHEN WOULD I WORK and WORKING CONDITIONS?
Be available to work 8-24 hours per week, during term and optional full time during breaks including summer.Availability to work within the hours of 8am to 5pm at least 8 hours per week.Willing to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and/or weather.Some of the work may be outside, entering a variety of buildings.Requires a lot of standing and moving.Class schedules and school workload are considered when developing weekly work schedulesAnticipated appointment begin dates are flexible and can range between December 16th through January 8th.There is no specific anticipated appointment end date, as those hired are encouraged to continue their employment through multiple years while they are enrolled at OSU.WHAT'S THE PAY?

60% IT RECEIVING AND TESTING:
This position receives IT inventory, performs tests and refurbishes equipment as necessary for re-sale.Organizes, prices and lists items online.25% WAREHOUSE SUPPORT:
Assist with sorting, cleaning and staging surplus items for saleUse excellent customer service with public, department and agencies that visit the warehouse.Organizing recyclable materials in preparation for shipping to vendors.Preparing site for public and staff sales.Posting for-sale items online, including preparing items for shipping.15% Other duties assigned could include:
Transport materials: Assist with recycling or surplus pickups or moves.Warehouse maintenance.Cleaning and preparing recycling bins and carts.Picking up and delivering items depending on customer requests and materials flow.The use of university-owned vehicles will support the transportation of a wide variety of materials across campus. Driving and safety training is provided by a Materials Management Lead Staff.Materials Management staff are expected to observe and actively listen to OSU community members with diverse backgrounds who have questions or comments about their experiences with OSU's materials services.Sorting recyclable materials.Minimum Qualifications

Additional Required Qualifications
Understanding of computer components.Understanding of operating systemsWillingness to work as a team member.Willingness to learn to drive a box truck and a standard pickup truck.Ability to safely lift, carry, push, pull and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs. as needed. Training and use of moving equipment such as hand trucks to move heavier materials is provided.Preferred (Special) Qualifications
