The Employee Relations Technician supports the Human Resources department by maintaining accurate personnel records, overseeing employee documentation, and ensuring compliance with departmental processes. This position aligns with the mission, vision, and core values of the school and contributes to a positive workplace culture.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

Performance Evaluation and Professional Development SupportMaintains performance evaluation and professional development recordsTracks deadlines for evaluations and goal-setting processesCollects and monitors staff evaluations and completion statusLeaves of Absence Support

Provides administrative support for leave of absence and accommodation processesTracks and document leave cases, deadlines, and updatesCommunicates case status updates to employees, leadership, and HR as necessaryStays informed on state and federal leave regulations and recommend procedural updatesEmployee and Labor Relations

Assists with compliance research on employment laws and policiesUpdates HR manuals, policies, and training materials as neededPrepares employee relations metrics and reports (e.g., turnover, retention)Analyzes retention trends and provides insights for improvementHuman Resources Information System (HRIS) Management

Assists with maintaining HRIS and ensuring accuracy of employment recordsAudits employment data and assigns required training, tracking completion statusRecruitment and Documentation

Performs and tracks offboarding processes, ensuring all separation documentation is complete.Drafts and maintains work calendars and assists with recruitment tasks.General Department and School Support

Provides clerical and operational support to the HR department and other school functionsSupports the development of a positive school culture and compliance with anti-discrimination policiesResponds to HR-related inquiries and direct staff to appropriate resourcesOther Duties

Responds to all work-related correspondence within 24 business hoursDocuments and refers formal disciplinary actions to appropriate personnel in compliance with school policiesPerforms additional duties as assigned by the supervisorQUALIFICATIONS GUIDE

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required.Two years of clerical experience required.One year of human resources experience preferred.Certifications and Clearances

Fingerprint clearance (LiveScan) required prior to employment.Proof of TB test completion within the last 60 days required.Valid California driver's license and proof of automobile insurance.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Proficient in office equipment and software, including Google Workspace.Strong record-keeping, conflict resolution, and organizational skills.Demonstrates professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and confidentiality.Ability to manage time effectively and follow detailed procedures.Embraces Sage Oak's core valuesPhysical Demands

Ability to hear, speak, sit, stand, bend, and lift objects up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.Work Environment

Primarily office-based, with occasional outdoor activities and travel up to 100 miles per day.Moderate noise levels with frequent use of computers and office equipment.
