Suzano is expanding its operations in the U.S., and we are seeking a dedicated Safety Coordinator to join our team at our paper packaging facility in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. This role is essential in promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring that safety standards are effectively implemented and maintained. The Safety Coordinator will work closely with all departments to identify hazards, enforce safety policies, and drive continuous improvement in health and safety practices. What You’re Going to Do: Coordinate and implement safety programs and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA and other federal, state, and local safety regulations. Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions. Lead safety training sessions and orientation programs for new and current employees, covering topics such as hazard recognition, PPE usage, and emergency procedures. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, determining root causes and implementing preventive measures to avoid recurrence. Work closely with supervisors and employees to promote a culture of safety and reinforce safe work practices across the facility. Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety records, including reports, incident logs, and training documentation. Monitor and ensure the availability and proper use of safety equipment, such as personal protective equipment (PPE) and emergency response tools. Collaborate with other departments to develop and execute emergency response plans and participate in safety drills. Track and report on key safety metrics, providing insights and recommendations to leadership for improvement. What We Expect from You: Associate degree or certification in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Proven experience in a safety role, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting. Knowledge of OSHA standards and other relevant safety regulations. Strong communication skills, with the ability to conduct training and promote a positive safety culture. Proficiency in safety management software and MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills for identifying and mitigating risks.
