Position Summary: The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a key executive responsible for the overall operational management of Edgewater Health Primary Care Division. The COO will ensure the delivery of high-quality healthcare services while optimizing operational efficiency and compliance with regulatory standards. This position requires a strategic leader with a deep understanding of the healthcare landscape and a commitment to improving community health outcomes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Operational Oversight:

Lead and manage the daily operations of the health center, ensuring alignment with the strategic vision and mission of the organization.

Strategic Development:

Collaborate with the CEO and board to develop and implement organizational strategies that enhance service delivery and community impact.

Financial Stewardship:

Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and resource allocation, ensuring the health center operates within its financial means while maximizing service delivery.

Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and standards, including those specific to federally qualified health centers.

Quality Improvement:

Lead initiatives aimed at improving patient care quality and operational efficiency, including compliance with regulatory standards.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

Utilize data analytics to monitor performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and drive improvements in service delivery.

Community Relations:

Build and maintain relationships with community stakeholders, including patients, local organizations, and government entities, to promote health center services and initiatives and to enhance service delivery and outreach.

Policy Development:

Develop and implement policies and procedures that promote best practices in healthcare delivery and operational efficiency.

Team Leadership:

Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team; foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

Masters degree in healthcare administration, Public Health, Business Administration, or a related field.

A minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare operations, preferably in a federally qualified health center or similar environment.

Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance issues, and quality improvement methodologies.

Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire staff at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with community health initiatives and understanding of social determinants of health.

Knowledge of federal and state healthcare policies and funding mechanisms.

Familiarity with health information technology and electronic health records (EHR) systems.

Bilingual skills are a plus.
