Workplace Operations & Facilities Manager
to join the team! This position can be hybrid out of our McLean, VA location with the opportunity to be remote. The Workplace Operations & Facilities Manager will lead and shape the operational management of HII Mission Technologies’ global real estate portfolio, to include delivery of facilities management and workplace services; overseeing employees, contractors, and vendors; managing facility costs and budgets, directing maintenance work; planning and management of capital construction projects; and development and implementation of department strategy, policies, procedures, and processes. Key Responsibilities:
Serve as leader for delivery of facilities management and project management for the HII Mission Technologies global real estate portfolio. Drive operational and process improvements that result in savings, continuous improvement, and improved productivity & efficiency. Create and communicate a scalable Facilities Management vision across the entire portfolio. Improve the efficiency of facility operations, with a focus on standardization and exceptional employee experience, including people, processes, and systems. Create and implement the Facilities Management staffing strategy model, working with third party outsourced provider(s). Manage financial performance of the facilities, including the establishment of annual and multi-year operating budgets, forecasts, and projections. Ensure compliance with energy & sustainability requirements and goals. Partner with the EHS team to maintain safe work environments. Work cross-functionally within the Mission Technologies division and enterprise-wide (IT, Security, Finance, HR, EHS, Legal, Risk Management). What you need to have:
8 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 6 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 12 years relevant progressive experience. Proven track record for building and leading a facilities management team. Deep understanding of facilities management best practices and trends. Significant project management experience, including planning, executing, and overseeing large-scale projects. Proven ability to influence others, drive change, and communicate effectively. Demonstrated ability to thrive in dynamic and evolving environments, effectively navigating through uncertain situations, and adjusting strategies as needed to solve complex problems and gain stakeholder alignment. Financial management skills including the ability to develop and execute annual operating and capital plans. Track record of identifying opportunities for process improvement, developing, and implementing solutions that result in increased efficiency, lowered cost, or reduced time to process. Provide formal supervision to employees. Monitor the training and development of staff. Conduct performance evaluations and coaching. Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees. Highly organized with strong attention to detail. Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools/sites that are restricted to individuals who possess U.S. citizenship. Outstanding interpersonal skills, to include strong oral and written communication and the ability to interact with senior levels of management. 10 or more years of leadership experience in facilities management. Experience and success working with an outsourced service provider and managing third party vendors. Experience leading cross-business, cross-functional teams and external partners. Strong understanding of Program and Project management, including risk, schedule, and budget management. Experience in development and delivery of presentations to various levels of management.
