EMERGE Family Therapy Center & Teaching Clinic, Spartanburg, South Carolina, United States, 29302
EMERGE Family Therapy & Teaching Clinic, a leader in mental health training and therapy, seeks an Executive Director. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will have overall responsibility for executing the organization’s mission to train therapists, provide quality, affordable counseling, and strengthen our community. The Executive Director should inspire progress and collaboration while managing operations, fostering meaningful community relationships, and providing vision for the organization's strategic direction.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Planning & Execution
Develop plans and propose strategic initiatives consistent with the mission and informed by data and community needs.
Foster strategic relationships to advance the mission of EMERGE.
Develop a fiscally sound budget and sustainable funding plan; secure needed resources to advance initiatives through fundraising and grants.
Manage the implementation of critical initiatives.
Possess financial acumen to monitor organizational as well as project-based budgets.
Forecast financial impacts of various programs and revenue streams.
Day-to-Day Leadership
Empower EMERGE Directors in advancing their assigned areas through intentional coaching, regular feedback, and program assessment.
Carry out human resources functions for the organization of contract management, employee reviews, and termination as necessary; fielding feedback on the workplace.
Address issues that arise in conjunction with relevant EMERGE Directors and partnerships.
Make responsible, clear, and decisive responses to unplanned events and crises (i.e., pandemics, social unrest, weather events, threats, etc.).
Triage legal, ethical, and clinical issues, consulting with area experts (including Legal Counsels) for issues outside the knowledge scope.
Make decisions in alignment with the AAMFT (American Assoc. for Marriage and Family Therapy) Code of Ethics, HIPPA, and South Carolina Legal Code of Statutes.
Foster regular and transparent communication between all relevant parties working within and/or with the organization (i.e. Converse University MMFT program graduate students and supervisors, EMERGE employees, and Board of Directors).
Board of Directors
Serve as the staff liaison for the Board of Directors and communicate regularly with them about the state of the organization.
Support the Board as needed and execute Board decisions within the organization.
Community Relations
Develop and execute marketing strategies to support the mission of EMERGE, including working with the assigned team member on social media and Community Engagement.
Engage with the community through attendance and participation in relevant events/programs, representing EMERGE.
Cultivate the unique relationship with primary community partners (i.e. Converse University) and prioritize the training of effective Marriage and Family therapists.
Cultivate external community partnerships that align with the mission and vision of EMERGE.
Fund Development
Cultivate relationships with new, potential funders and donors.
Maintain relationships with current funders and donors.
Lead the organizational strategy in resource development (this includes researching and writing grants and grant management).
Other Duties as Needed
Demonstrate active and engaged servant leadership and serve as the lead caretaker for the organization, its people, and its facilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
Passion for the mission of EMERGE and mental health.
Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
At least five years of relevant experience (including management, non-profit leadership, clinical practice, etc.).
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
Strong interpersonal skills.
Strong financial acumen.
Preferred
Clinical experience and working knowledge of mental health clinical practice.
Successful fundraising experience.
Experience leading and navigating organizational growth.
