Posting Summary Rutgers University-Newark, an urban public research university and anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise, is seeking an Administrative Coordinator. Reporting to Department Administrator Supervisor this position provides administrative support to the RBS: Finance and Economics Department. This position is responsible for and not limited to the following: Independently organizes and coordinates daily unit operations in Newark, and as needed for New Brunswick colleagues Oversees the Newark operations of the department including providing coordination and administrative support to multiple tenure track, non-tenure track, full-time lecturers, part-time lecturers, and visiting scholars in their teaching, research, and service efforts Provides knowledgeable and competent support to the Department Administrator Supervisor Coordinates the administration of programs, projects, and/or processes Prioritizes and daily unit operations, resolves conflicts and issues, prepares, and implements administrative guidelines and procedures, and provides oversight and facilitation Provides routine and non-routine information and explanations to stakeholders Creates informational materials Provides general unit-supporting research, analysis, and proposal data Prepares, processes, and controls records, statistics, reports, and documents Performs fiscal support functions Schedules appointments; arranges and coordinates design and logistics for events and meetings Completes other work consistent with a broad understanding of the mission, vision, role, and goals of the administrative, academic, and research units Serves as a liaison within and outside the unit and needed Works independently with few direct instructions Carries out routine and non-routine tasks with occasional review of work outputs by supervisor Performs professional work that requires knowledge of general administrative/office management principles and practices and a good understanding, use, and application of concepts, theories, principles, practices, terminology, and applied bases of unit administration Provides troubleshooting to keep the department running smoothly Provides support to seminar guest speakers and recruitment candidates Travel amongst regional campuses may be required Position Status Full Time Hours Per Week Daily Work Shift Work Arrangement Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2024. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date.
