Description: What you'll be doing The Associate Director of Parking Operations leads and manages key programs, including Parking Lot Maintenance, Parking Enforcement, and Event/Reserved Parking, ensuring operational efficiency and high-quality service. The position involves collaboration with university departments, the Department of Public Safety, campus representatives, and students to develop strategic parking initiatives while mitigating impacts on the campus community.
As a leader, you will establish departmental goals, oversee resources, and ensure compliance with university policies. This includes managing staff, optimizing workflows, and maintaining accountability for human, financial, and physical resources. You'll implement strategies and processes that align with university objectives while protecting departmental assets.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
Lead Parking Enforcement, Maintenance, and Event Parking operations, managing staff scheduling, work assignments, and personnel development.
Data-Driven Decisions:
Analyze parking utilization to balance supply and demand and make informed recommendations.
Team Management:
Hire, train, evaluate, and provide regular feedback to staff, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
Customer Service:
Maintain high standards of service for parking operations and the campus community, addressing issues and promoting efficiency.
Project Oversight:
Plan and coordinate special administrative projects and strategic initiatives, monitoring their impact and success.
Performance Metrics:
Develop and review key performance indicators, align operational goals with budget impacts, and report outcomes monthly.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Represent the department in committees and partnerships, working with campus leaders, students, and external groups on parking policies and planning.
Contract Management:
Oversee third-party contracts and vendor relationships.
Collaborative Efforts:
Partner with campus leadership and advisory committees to develop transparent parking policies and ensure customer-focused services.
Advise on campus parking master plans and strategic initiatives.
Serve as the university's representative in community and transportation-related groups.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, Public Administration, or a related field, supplemented with an additional five years of relevant professional experience, including at least five years in a managerial role overseeing exempt-level employees. Alternatively, a combination of education and equivalent experience is acceptable.
Minimum of five years of experience in managing complex parking and transportation programs.
Experience in overseeing parking enforcement in university or municipal settings.
Experience in coordinating special event parking within a higher education campus setting.
Demonstrated project management capabilities.
Proficiency in both short-term and long-term budget forecasting.
Exceptional skills in communication, customer service, and collaboration.
Possession of a valid driver's license is required.
Proven track record of managing parking and transportation programs within higher education or medical campus environments.
