TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Montgomery, Alabama, 36116 About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Staff Float Pool MedSurg Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, 12-hour days Guaranteed Hours: 36/48 hours per week Experience: At least 18 months of experience in MedSurg. Preference for first-time travelers. License: Registered Nurse license Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Minimum of 1 year of trauma/surgical experience - Skills in wound care, chest tubes, NGT, IV skills, and medication administration/documentation Job Description: - Work in a facility with various units, each specializing in different patient care needs. - Be assigned a home unit on the first day of orientation. - Participate in orientation: 24 hours of classroom time and 24 hours on the unit for new or returning travelers (absent for 1 years). - Engage with patients on 6 North Trauma Surgical, 5 South Neuroscience, 5 North MedSurg/Oncology, 4 South Clinical Decision Unit, 3 South Orthopedics, and 3 North MS/Ortho/Urology. - Patient ratios vary from 1:5 to 1:6 depending on the unit. - Support from CNAs, receptionists, charge nurses, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, hospitalists, and telemetry monitoring techs. - Participate in weekend rotation every other weekend or 4 weekend days per month. - Work on one major and one minor seasonal holiday as per policy. - Required to interpret and confirm telemetry strip readings every 4 hours.
