Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Float Pool Pediatric Unit for a 13-week assignment. As an RN, you will provide nursing care to a diverse group of pediatric patients with varying health conditions, from simple to complex cases.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients. - Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; note all changes in physician orders. - Assist physicians during patient examinations and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments. - Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients and observe physiological manifestations, intervening when necessary. - Administer prescribed medications and initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products. - Deliver patient care competently and efficiently. - Interact with patients and families to share care plans during hospital stays and at discharge. - Inform patients and families about hospital procedures. - Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. - Delegate tasks to support staff as needed. - Perform other duties as assigned.

Schedule Notes: Float to all our acute care units, which include Pediatric Medical Unit, Pediatric Surgical Unit, Pediatric Medical Specialty Unit, and occasionally the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Unit.

Skills & Experience:

- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures. - Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques. - Maintain good working relationships with other employees. - Strong verbal and written communication skills. - Respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors. - Basic computer skills.

Education:

- Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program. - Preferred: Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing from a board-approved program.

Languages: Proficient in English (Read, Write, Speak)
