The Administrative Assistant performs highly responsible work in assisting and providing support to the department. The Administrative Assistant will assist the department in duties such as scheduling, record keeping, budgeting, and communicating with other staff and faculty. The Administrative Assistant must have a strong attention to detail and interpersonal skills and must be able to comply with all applicable College and office policies and procedures. Perform secretarial and reception functions in the office, including greeting visitors and answering phones, managing the schedule for the office, and organizing and maintaining files and records within the office. Performs office management functions within the office, including communicating relevant information to and from the office, assisting the office in preparing reports and budgets, and assisting with payroll and other management functions. Performs other general administrative duties, including preparing and updating course listing information and assisting on various committees within the College. To perform these essential functions, the Administrative Assistant must be present at work. Therefore, attendance is an essential job function. Minimum of associate degree with 15 semester hours in related field. Five years' experience. Must have good intrapersonal skills, a strong work ethic, reading and math skills, and the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Must possess general secretarial skills and knowledge of standard office equipment and software. Must have the ability to multi-task, prioritize among tasks, and use critical thinking skills to solve problems.
