A law firm seeks an experienced Real Estate Attorney to join its team in Uniondale, NY. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience with a focus on commercial lease transactions, representing both landlords and tenants. The role involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating lease agreements, with a preference for candidates with retail leasing experience. Strong drafting and communication skills are essential for success in this position. Duties: Draft, review, and negotiate commercial lease agreements for both landlords and tenants Advise clients on the legal aspects of leasing transactions, including terms and conditions of leases Work on a wide range of commercial real estate matters, with a focus on retail leasing transactions Collaborate with clients, brokers, and other real estate professionals to facilitate leasing agreements Provide strategic legal guidance to clients, ensuring that lease terms align with their business objectives Negotiate lease amendments, extensions, and renewals as required Conduct legal research to stay updated on relevant laws, market trends, and regulatory changes Draft and review related documents, such as lease guarantees and estoppel certificates Assist in resolving disputes related to lease agreements through negotiation or litigation Requirements: 5+ years of experience in commercial real estate law, with a focus on lease drafting and negotiation Strong experience representing both landlords and tenants, preferably with retail leasing experience Proven ability to draft and negotiate complex commercial lease agreements Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to identify key issues in lease documents Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain legal concepts to clients in a clear and concise manner Ability to manage a high volume of work and prioritize multiple matters simultaneously Experience in advising clients on legal risks and strategies in lease negotiations Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school Certifications: Admission to the New York State Bar (or eligibility for admission) Skills: Expertise in commercial real estate law, particularly leasing and retail transactions Strong legal drafting and negotiation skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills High level of organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Proficiency with legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite
