General Litigation Associate

A law firm seeks a talented General Litigation Associate to join its team in Richmond, VA. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience in litigation and a passion for working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Duties: Represent clients in general civil litigation matters across various practice areas Prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery responses Manage case files and track important deadlines Participate in case strategy discussions and provide input on legal approaches Conduct legal research and analysis to support case development Attend hearings, depositions, and trials as needed Maintain positive client relationships by providing regular updates and guidance Collaborate with senior attorneys and colleagues on complex legal matters Requirements: Admission to the Virginia State Bar (required) 1-3 years of experience in general litigation Admission to the DC Bar is a plus Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple cases and tasks efficiently Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school Certifications: Virginia State Bar Admission (required) DC Bar Admission (preferred) Skills: Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills Effective communication and advocacy skills Time management and multitasking abilities Ability to handle complex legal issues with professionalism and attention to detail Proficiency in legal software and case management tools
