New graduates with completed clinical experience may be considered. License: Not specified Certifications: - Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through a governing body, such as the National Board for Surgical Technologists (NBST) or the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), or obtained within 12 months of hire. - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Must-Have: Solid PC skills, including MS applications and Internet usage. Job Description: - Assist the surgeon during operative procedures within the scope of practice, such as holding retractors, cutting suture material as directed, connecting drains to suction apparatus, and applying dressings. - Ensure a safe environment by implementing surgical asepsis, sterile techniques, surgical conscience, universal precautions, and all customer safety procedures. - Care for instruments and equipment before, during, and after surgery to ensure proper functioning for future use. - Participate in Quality Improvement activities to ensure exceptional care for surgical services customers and families. - Recognize emergency situations and respond promptly and effectively. - Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure optimal outcomes for customers. - Evaluate personal practice concerning professional standards and relevant statutes and regulations. - Comply with legal, regulatory, accrediting, and procedural requirements related to area of responsibility. - Understand and follow principles and standards as outlined in the organization's Code of Conduct. - Protect customer and team member privacy and access related information only as needed to perform job duties. - Report violations or areas of concern to the leader or Corporate Compliance Officer via established methods of communication.
