We are seeking a Paralegal and Legal Assistant to join our team located in New York. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity within our organization. As a Paralegal and Legal Assistant, you will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities, including handling customer inquiries, maintaining customer records, and processing applications.

Responsibilities:

• Effectively handling incoming calls, determining the legal subject matter, and routing callers to the appropriate attorney or Department of Health program area.
• Proficiently coordinating the service of legal documents.
• Managing the processing of invoices for process service companies.
• Demonstrating proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Coordinating logistics for the Department of Health Direct Referral hearing process.
• Operating a postage meter and processing documents for certified mail.
• Working independently on multiple case hearing details.
• Maintaining organized workspaces and displaying strong prioritizing skills.
• Working professionally with personal and confidential information.
• Understanding and interpreting laws and other legal documents.
• Demonstrating proficiency with the operation of the Cisco telephone system.
• Being available to work overtime on short notice.

REQUIRED / IDEAL SKILLSET:

• Experience with certified mail and postage meter operations
