JOB OVERVIEW

The hotel minibar attendant is responsible for maintaining and restocking the minibars located in guest rooms. A hotel minibar attendant contributes to overall guest satisfaction by providing convenient and enjoyable amenities while also helping the hotel generate additional revenue. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and excellent communication abilities.

What you'll do:
  • Regularly check the minibars in guest rooms to determine if any items have been consumed or removed. Replenish snacks, beverages, and other items as needed, making sure the minibar is always fully stocked and visually appealing.
  • Keep track of the inventory of minibar items, including food, beverages, and toiletries. Monitor stock levels and communicate with the appropriate departments when items need to be ordered or replenished.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the minibar area, both inside the guest room and within the storage area where the items are stored. Ensure that all items are properly organized and presented neatly.
  • Keep track of the prices of items in the minibar and ensure that they are accurately recorded. Coordinate with the front desk or relevant departments to update any changes in pricing or billing procedures.
  • Fulfill guest requests for specific items that may not be present in the minibar. This could include accommodating dietary preferences or specific requests for certain items.
  • Provide excellent customer service to guests by promptly responding to their requests, addressing any concerns, and assisting with inquiries related to minibar items.
  • Communicate effectively with housekeeping and front desk staff to coordinate the cleaning and maintenance of guest rooms, including restocking the minibar after check-out and before new arrivals.
  • Maintain accurate records of minibar usage, restocking activities, and any issues encountered. Generate reports as necessary for management and accounting purposes.
  • Suggest additional items or promotions to guests, potentially increasing revenue for the hotel through upselling and cross-selling opportunities related to minibar items.
  • Ensure that all items in the minibar are within their expiration dates and meet quality standards. Remove any expired or damaged items promptly.
  • Maintain an organized storage area for minibar items, making it easy to locate and restock items efficiently.
  • Follow hotel policies and procedures regarding minibar operations, security, and guest interactions.
  • Collaborate with other hotel staff, such as housekeepers and front desk agents, to provide a seamless guest experience.
Who you are:
  • You have a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • You have a State issued food handling + beverage certifications as required .
  • You are able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) of the workplace.
  • You are able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals .
  • You are able to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • You are able to speak effectively before guests and groups of co-workers.
  • You are able to navigate and operate computer and Point of Sale (POS) systems.
  • You are able to apply concepts of math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division .
