POSITION OVERVIEW We are seeking to hire an experienced investor who will work with the Chief Investment Officer (“CIO”) of a team which manages $15bn in private client assets, constructing and managing client portfolios and communicating timely information to the team’s clients. Client portfolios range in size from $150 million to >$4.5 billion. The team functions as the dedicated investment office for 12 family offices in the U.S., Canada, Central America, and South America. Given the team’s focus on timely client engagement and efficient portfolio execution, they have grown organically through client referrals, as well as strong networks in the family office market. The team has a flat structure with clear roles and ownership of all investment and operating processes. Team members meet daily to discuss markets, investment themes, managers, and client portfolios, while staying focused on task/project delivery. The team is guided by these objectives: Generate top decile/quartile investment performance Maintain high client satisfaction, as measured by 100% client retention Actively foster and facilitate enhancing our clients’ networks and investment knowledge Develop the next generation of talent RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic Planning and Business Building : Work in partnership with the team to build market awareness and develop our pipeline of $B+ families; bring experience managing and growing a large book of business, cultivating leads, and closing business. Relationship Management : Act as senior spokesperson; be the executive at client, prospect, and manager meetings – set the stage and navigate relationships with dexterity. Investing : Work in close partnership with the team to develop strategic vision for client portfolios (thematic areas of focus, manager evaluation and monitoring, current exposures, liquidity levels, etc.) and manage portfolios effectively. Team Management : Advocate for resourcing and technology needs; mentor, coach, and develop talent at all levels on the team. QUALIFICATIONS Ability to adapt quickly to the way the team works while contributing new ideas – it’s about the team, not the individual. Has a growth mindset of shared learning and shared resources, constantly seeking to improve and open to feedback not just for themselves but for the continual growth of others. Holds oneself accountable – willing to put stake in the ground, with an opinion and view, but also open to others’ challenging viewpoints. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills with clients – able to break down complex concepts, strong presence, careful listening, ability to adapt in the moment to concerns expressed, conviction articulating a path forward. Client retention capabilities, including setting vision for and executing on client roundtables. Deep investment acumen and capital markets experience; has “touched the money.” Commercially successful in building and retaining books of business. Skilled at identifying and evaluating managers and building resilient relationships. Highly experienced in managing outcomes which are net positive for both the client and the firm.
