Travel Surg Tech - $1,491 per week in Northridge, CA

Job Title: Surgical Technologist Job Specialty: Operating Room Technician Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8H Evenings, Monday-Friday, 2:45 PM - 11:15 PM with on-call responsibilities Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: License submission required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Must-Have: - Trauma, orthopedic, and general surgical experience - BLS certification - CST certification Job Description: - Work in a 12-suite general operating room with additional specialized rooms (1 CVOR and 1 hybrid room). - Handle approximately 14 cases per day on average. - Maintain a 1-to-1 ratio in surgical settings. - Use Cerner Surginet for electronic medical records. - Rotate through weekend call every 4th weekend for the 3 PM - 11 PM shift. - Self-schedule weekday on-call shifts 4-8 times per 4-week schedule. - Respond to on-call within a 30-minute window. - Participate in common types of cases including orthopedic (total joints), gynecology, urology, trauma surgeries, ENT, general, plastics, vascular, neuro, and robotics. - Special procedures in the CVOR include open heart, valves, thoracotomy, and trauma (not required unless specified). - No floating required for surgical technologists or registered nurses. - Complete floor-specific orientation with 2-3 shifts on the unit. - No scrubbing required for registered nurses, though it is preferred. Additional Information: - Required holidays: 1 major and 1 minor in both summer and winter months. - Medical support services include a 24/7 pharmacy and respiratory therapy. - Dedicated charge nurses and operating room technicians available. - Scrub attire is provided. - Staff equipped with GE Space Labs telemetry equipment. - The hospital reserves the right to cancel up to three times per contract shift.
