Responsibilities You will provide senior technical advice to ensure the success of MCSC programs, anticipating potential issues and resolving unanticipated challenges that affect mission effectiveness. You will chair technical reviews and guide teams in meeting project technical requirements, ensuring that all products meet required standards. You will serve as the technical authority for MCSC projects, advising on solutions and escalating complex technical issues when necessary. You will manage and mentor a professional technical workforce, identifying training and development needs to enhance operational capabilities. You will collaborate with senior leaders to develop strategic technical and business plans that support systems engineering efforts. You will oversee the performance of subordinates, providing guidance, conducting performance evaluations, and fostering a positive work environment. You will ensure the application of security policies and guide the development of systems that align with established IT standards and objectives. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or NH-03 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Supervise AND/OR Manage senior technical specialist, oversee engineering projects, manage a skilled workforce, develop strategic plans, and ensure effective resolution of technical challenges AND/OR operational issues. Education N/A Additional Information This position is in Program Executive Officer (PEO) Land Systems (PEO LS), Program Manager, Marine Air Ground Task Force Command and Control (PM MAGTF C2). This position will serve as the Assistant Program Manager, Engineering (APM-E) for PM MAGTF C2. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities highly desired for this position: 1. Mastery knowledge of and demonstrated experience in applying systems engineering principles. 2. Master knowledge of and demonstrated experience in leading and directing teams of various sizes. 3. Demonstrated ability to work on diverse teams engaged in management activities of a Defense Acquisition program. 4. Mastery knowledge and demonstrated experience in one or more of the following function areas: - Information Technology systems to include software development, networking, and IT management - Ground systems to include ground combat vehicles and other transportation systems - Weapon systems to include anti-armor, infantry, recon, etc. - Combat support equipment to include Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) systems; test and diagnostics equipment; power systems; etc. - Weapons/Sensors Development and Integration to include air defense, radars, command and control - Other systems used by the United States Marine Corps not included in the above 5. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing 6. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and supervise a staff of professional, technical, and/or administrative employees MAGTF C2 consists of projects and programs related to USMC tactical networking and command and control systems used by Marines while deployed. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled.
