Job Title: Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics Specialist Job Specialty: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 4x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:00) Guaranteed Hours: Hours are guaranteed after the call-off policy has been met Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a dedicated children's facility, or 1.5 years in a children's hospital if experience is elsewhere License: California RCP License required Certifications: BLS, PALS, NRP (Advanced level from AHA) Must-Have: - National RRT credential; RRT-NPS preferred - Experience with high acuity Level 4 NICU and Trauma Level 1 - Experience with tracheostomies, ventilators, suctioning, and oxygen Job Description: - Provide respiratory therapy services across different pediatric units, including Level IV NICU, Level I PICU, and Cardiothoracic ICU - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care for pediatric patients - Conduct respiratory therapy treatments for patients with conditions such as asthma, bronchiolitis, and cystic fibrosis - Support the care of intubated patients in the PICU and therapies involving specialty gases like Heliox and iNO - Participate in hospital rotation and may float within the scope to meet facility needs - Complete required orientation and non-billable modules prior to start - Work two weekends per four-week schedule block; weekend shifts are considered Saturdays and Sundays - Comply with flu vaccination requirements with no exemptions Hospital Highlights: - Recognized among the top children's hospitals - Features a teaching environment with Magnet status - Level 1 trauma center with a high-acuity patient population
