Position Overview:
The Huntsville Manufacturing Plant is looking for a
Quality Lab Technician
who will provide precision quality support to the assembly and machining departments and assist with material analysis in the chemical and metrology labs. Conduct routine and non-routine analyses of in-process materials, raw materials, environmental samples, finished goods, or stability samples.Schedule:
2nd Shift Monday Through Friday Morning 7:30 PM - 6:00 AMPay:
$21.25 Per Hour with a 6% Shift DifferentialResponsibilities:Identify quality problems and recommend solutionsPerform inspections on parts and engines with various systems. (Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), Faro arm, hand tools etc.)Calibrate, validate, and maintain/repair gage equipmentEnter data into database systemPerform sample prep and product and/or material testingPerform inspections and quality monitoring of product and processConduct various liquid sampling testingReport results of testing and inspections to appropriate stakeholders and provide recommendations for improvementMonitor supplies to maintain inventoryImplement new procedures/techniques for quality processesMaintain a clean and orderly work environmentDemonstrate overall safe work behavior including the utilization of proper safety equipment and adhering to safety guidelinesMinimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or GEDAt least two years of experience with related QA experience or trainingAdditional Requirements:
Physical requirements (ability to the following for up to 10 hours per shift):Walk, sit, standLift, carry, push or pull up to 20 poundsHead/neck movementReach outward or above the shoulderExposure to constant and intermittent noise, fumes, smoke and gases, solvents, paint, grease and oils, radiant energy, and slippery surfaces
At least two years of CMM and or gage calibration experienceAt least one year of experience in working in a high performance team environmentAt least two years of metal cutting machining experienceAt least two years of experience reading manufacturing blue printsAt least two years of experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Experience in a machining environmentAdvanced knowledge of GD&TCMM programing and operation experienceMaterials analysis experienceExperience with Microsoft Office Suite
