Description
Directly supervise 12-15 Cafeteria Supervisors, indirectly supervise up to 100+ Food Service Cooks and Food Service Assistants by providing leadership on policies and procedures pertaining to the Food and Child Nutrition program as it relates to staffing, labor relations, compliance, training, employee evaluation and public relations at the school level. Serve as a department liaison between food services and campus administrators.
Supervise assigned schools in areas of personnel, operations, facilities, customer service, food quality, etc.Monitor all food purchases, labor cost and supply purchases according to keep within annual budgetMonitor and review compliance of HACCP program to assure food safety practices are followedMaintain daily professional communication with administrators, campus staff and department leadershipResponsible for documentation needed for due process of school staffEnforce compliance of best practices, laws, regulations, policies and emerging technologies related to school food service operations and communicate to appropriate department personnelConduct regular audits to ensure the compliance of all department, local, state and federal policies and proceduresAssume site Supervisor responsibilities when a position is vacantFacilitate, staff and attend department job fairs and campus events as neededProvide leadership to assure consistency and compliance with all policies and proceduresAssess school based departmental needs and make recommendations to department administration to assure quality service to students and staffObserve daily operations and provide training as neededWork with department professional development team to develop and facilitate training for campus based staffAttend workshops and seminars as assigned to maintain current knowledge of the food services industryConduct annual performance appraisals for Cafeteria SupervisorsResponsible for presenting monthly meetings for all Cafeteria Supervisors and campus staffVerify and approve campus food, supply and small equipment ordersUse professional judgment in handling emergency situations in cafeteriasPerform all other tasks and duties as assignedAll federally funded incumbents of this position must comply with time and effort reporting requirements through personnel activity reports or period certification, as appropriateSelected individuals for Dallas Independent School District positions will be placed according to compensation guidelines. A campus-based employee may not assume a new position for which he/she was selected based upon the posting process until the end of the current semester, unless approved by the chief officer - Human Capital Management.

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in directly related fieldTwo years experience in Food Service operations, prefer experience in supervision of multi-unit operationsExperience in school food service management, quality assurance, menu planning, catering, marketing and promotionsExperience in project planning and collaborating with a team to implement projectsInterpersonal skills in communication both verbal and written formTraining and presentation skills at all levelsComputer skills in creating word documents, power point presentations, spreadsheets, etc.School Nutrition Specialist (SNS) credentialed desirableAmerican Dietetic Association Registered Dietitian, licensed dietitian or eligible desirable but not required
