The opportunity to improve health on a global scale stands before us.Meet The TeamOur R&D team is looking for a Software Engineer with experience in data engineering, modeling, and machine learning (ML). In this role, you will design, develop, and deploy new data products leveraging a variety of data sources. You will also drive, own technical design, development and documentation of cross-functional and multi-platform capabilities. You will be working with the latest cloud computing platforms to create, deploy, and scale artificial intelligence (AI) systems and ML models, positioning Dexcom as an industry leader in health AI applications. We are a new team in R&D building new connected experiences for users across devices and services. As part of this team, you’ll be able to shape and implement new data-based products that will empower millions of customers to control their health.To be successful in this position you will have experience in modern cloud-based systems (GCP, Terraform, BigQuery, etc.), development experience using standard modeling and machine learning libraries, understanding of container-based platforms such as Kubernetes. An essential part of our design involves utilizing platform-as-a-service (PAAS) components. We develop software in the context of production medical systems, which adds another layer of complexity to our work, as some software will need to pass rigorous, FDA-mandated quality control.Where You Come InYou contribute to full stack applications, preferably in a cloud environment, like AWS, Azure, or GCP.You build APIs and ecosystems supporting microservices using modern frameworks and technologies.You support deployment of applications using generative AI technologies such as large language models (LLMs).You collaborate with data scientists, architects, and other software engineers to deploy and scale AI/ML applications.You build cloud-based container components for serving data products.You are comfortable being part of a team that builds components as part of a distributed environment.You bring strong programming skills – including in python, ML ecosystem tools, and generative AI – to the team.You are familiar with relevant, modern software test tools and equipmentYou possess the ability to work in a dynamic team environment, and the time-management skills to meet schedules and participate in scrums.What Makes You SuccessfulYou have strong experience working with Python, ML, and generative AI libraries.You love being on the cutting edge of AI/ML development, and have a passion for Dexcom’s mission and health sensing applications.You have a strong understanding of database systems, including database design and performance tuning.You can work efficiently within Linux environments.You possess strong CS fundamentals.You are willing to learn new technologies as required.You are comfortable working with large data sets.You have experience working with NoSQL databases like Cassandra, HBase, Couchbase etc.You have experience working with RDBMS like Oracle, SqlServer, MySQL, etc.You have experience developing cloud-based solutions.What You’ll GetA front row seat to life changing CGM technology.
