Center ICE is seeking a Project Manager who is interested in helping manage and deliver various innovation and entrepreneurial programs. Center ICE – the Center for Innovation, Commercialization, and Entrepreneurship – is the University of Alaska Fairbanks’ Innovation Hub. C-ICE, along with the Alaska Blue Economy Center, is part of a 5-year NSF EPSCoR project, Interface of Change, and leads the innovation and entrepreneurship activities under this collaborative project. Roles for this Project Manager position include delivering and improving programs and working with the wider EPSCoR team and its collaborators, building relationships with academic collaborators and external partners, developing new relationships, and fostering innovation opportunities.

To be successful in this role, applicants should possess strong project management skills, including the ability to plan, develop, and execute project visions with both internal stakeholders and external clients. In addition, applicants should have knowledge of or experience in Alaskan communities and a background working in the statewide innovation ecosystem. Effective communication and leadership skills are essential for steering project teams and providing guidance and training as needed, along with the ability to monitor progress and set deadlines. A background in education and outreach, the capability to design and deliver educational modules, and experience in outreach activities and budgeting would be advantageous. Effective communication skills are paramount, given the diverse range of stakeholders involved. The ability to work in a team with shared responsibilities and collaborate on programming will be an important component of an applicant’s skill set, as well as being a self-starter and thinking outside the box to support C-ICE innovative programming.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Master’s degree preferred.

Position Details:

This position is located on the Troth Yeddha' campus in Fairbanks, Alaska. This is a full-time, term-funded, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and

full employee benefits package . UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental, and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the

UA Staff Salary Schedule , Grade 79, based on education and experience.
