Open Until FilledPosition Information:The Assistant Director of Prevention is responsible for the research, design, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based primary prevention and health promotion curricula in accordance with state, federal, and UC System regulations. These activities include addressing healthy and high-risk behavior and creating lasting cultural change. This position develops, implements, and coordinates a vision for violence awareness programs and response services on campus in regard to sexual violence, stalking, and intimate partner violence.Applicants are required to submit a cover letter and resume for full consideration. Candidates may be asked to conduct a presentation or provide a work sample as a part of the interview process.The full salary range for the Assistant Director of Prevention Education is $73,600 - $133,200 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $85,500 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.Requirements:Educational RequirementsBachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.

RequiredCertification RequirementsCalifornia Certification for Sexual Assault Crisis Counselor pursuant to California Code, Evidence Code - EVID 1035.2.

Serve as subject matter expert on campus on sexual and gender-based violence prevention education and keep current with health research and national best practice. Lead departmental training on peer education models, marketing, public speaking, collaboration, educational design, and curriculum evaluation and assessment.

Assesses the effectiveness of the promotion and education of entire healthcare programs, and makes recommendations that may have broad impact to the programs.

Curate reports and metrics to campus senior administrators on primary prevention programs to help meet the complex and varied needs of the campus. Advise Director on analysis of prevalence data, patterns, and trends related to violence prevention and health promotion.

Independently monitor the design of sociocultural relevant prevention and intervention programs for students, faculty and staff. Manage and create or identify evidence-based primary prevention education.

Initiates and designs revisions to courses and program design and/or content.

Ensure that primary prevention education courses are trauma-informed, audience-tailored utilizing expertise of a lens of social justice, access and equity, cultural humility, the intersection of identities, and empowerment of oppressed and underserved populations. Oversee the development and sustainability of a campus train-the-trainer model and serve as a liaison between the department and the division, faculty and staff, and student groups.

Develops outreach programs and works with community leaders as well as the Office of the President.

Provide collaborative leadership, consultation, and strategic planning in a diverse environment with others across the organization, with multiple external stakeholders, and members of campus management at all levels to resolve highly complex health education and prevention issues, where the analysis of situations requires an in-depth evaluation and understanding of campus objectives.

Administer mandatory education as outlined by UC policy, and state, and federal law. Analyze and interpret policy that requires advanced expertise in department subject matter and principles of public health education on campus.Direct all social marketing content and provide oversight of department website and external communications. Responsible for ensuring that all messages are in line with research, best practices, and department mission.Respond to disclosures and/or individuals in crisis.
