POSITION:
Director of Respiratory TherapyDUTIES:Manage the staff in the Respiratory Care & Neurodiagnostic Departments (Sleep Center & EEG).Assist in formulating the department budget.Consult with staff, physicians, and the CNO on respiratory problems and interpretation of facility policies to ensure patient needs are met.Assist with the direction of Respiratory Care services, administer respiratory therapy care and life support to patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system as required.Develop and maintain performance improvement activities within the department and participate in quality improvement activities.Supervise the Sleep Lab and EEG supervisor.Knowledge of medications, treatments, and their correct administration, based on age of the patient and his/her clinical condition.Perform all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.Formulate a teaching plan based on identified learning needs of the patient and evaluate effectiveness of learning; include the patient’s family in teaching as appropriate.Treat patients and their families with respect and dignity. Coordinate and direct patient care to ensure patients’ needs are met and hospital policy is followed.Direct the RT staff. Support and empower staff to embrace the mission, vision, and value statement of the hospital.Perform management activities including interviewing, hiring, evaluating, termination, and employee disciplinary actions.REQUIREMENTS:Current State of Colorado Respiratory Therapist license, required.Graduate of an AMA-approved school of respiratory therapy required.Three or more years of previous experience in all aspects of cardiopulmonary services.At least one year’s previous experience in departmental management.Current BLS certification required.Current ACLS certification required.Current NRP certification required.WAGE:
$47.96-$71.95/hourSHIFTS:
