Cover Supervisor

Washington.Job Summary:Cover Supervisors
are responsible for maintaining a safe and secure classroom environment, identifying and addressing any hazards or risks, and responding appropriately in emergency situations.Role and Responsibilities of Cover Supervisor:Manage the classroom environment in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring that students are engaged in learning activities, maintaining discipline, and upholding the school's behaviour policies.Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and materials provided by the absent teacher, facilitating learning by guiding students through activities, answering questions, and helping as needed.Oversee student work during the lesson, ensuring that students stay on task and complete assigned activities while monitoring behaviour and managing any disruptions.Ensure the safety and well-being of students by adhering to health and safety procedures and protocols.The successful “Cover Supervisor” candidate will:Have previous working experience within an educational setting.Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.Demonstrate empathy, patience, and resilience when working with students facing academic or behavioural challenges.Hold relevant qualifications or training in education, childcare, or a related field.Be passionate about supporting the learning and development of students and making a positive difference in their lives.Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
