The ideal candidate will have a robust background in representing various non-profit organizations, including public charities, private foundations, and educational institutions. This role demands expertise in federal tax law, governance, endowment, and investment matters pertinent to tax-exempt organizations.Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide legal counsel on federal tax issues related to charitable and tax-exempt organizations, including public charities, private foundations, and educational institutions.Advise clients on compliance with federal tax laws, including issues related to self-dealing, excess business holdings, taxable expenditures, and unrelated business income.Handle matters involving governance, endowment, and investment policies for non-profit organizations.Guide clients through complex tax and regulatory requirements for joint ventures and business activities.Assist in preparing and reviewing legal documents and filings related to tax-exempt status and regulatory compliance.Represent clients in interactions with federal and state regulatory agencies.Stay current on changes in tax legislation and regulatory developments affecting non-profit organizations.Collaborate with other legal professionals and stakeholders to develop strategic solutions for clients.RequirementsJuris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Admission to the Bar in Virginia or the ability to obtain licensure.Experience in a legal role focusing on tax issues related to non-profit organizations.Proven experience with federal tax laws and regulations impacting charitable organizations and private foundations.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple client matters simultaneously.EducationJuris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.CertificationsAdmission to the Bar in Virginia or eligibility for admission.SkillsExpertise in federal tax laws and regulations for non-profit and tax-exempt organizations.Strong understanding of charitable organizations' governance, endowment, and investment matters.Ability to analyze and address complex tax and regulatory issues.Excellent legal research and writing skills.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues.High attention to detail and organizational skills.Company infoBCG Attorney Search1629 K ST NW, Suite 300WashingtonDistrict of ColumbiaUnited States 20006Phone :
