Overview

The HR Business Partner is a strategic partner and subject matter expert for assigned internal customer groups. The HRBP will serve as the main point of contact for leadership and employees regarding all HR-related topics. Additionally, the HRBP will work alongside business leadership to provide solutions for strategic goals.

Essential Job Functions

  • Serves as core people partner to internal customer groups, supporting and advising leadership of people impact related to department objectives, company programs and organizational change.
  • Facilitates and/or supports discussions with organizational leadership related to workforce planning, talent management, compensation reviews, etc.
  • Serves as change agent to the organization and leads implementation of new HR programs amongst customer groups.
  • Provides guidance to employees and leadership (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Utilizes data to build recommendations and proposals to improve performance, retention and engagement of the organization.
  • Responsible for staying abreast of external factors that may affect the organization including but not limited to, standard HR practices, industry trends, regulatory changes, etc.
  • Monitors customer groups for compliance in all federal, state and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Addresses employee issues and provides recommendations related to employee performance, conduct, and/or workplace issues.
  • Administers policies and procedures and provides ongoing support to customer groups on HR-related matters.
  • Works closely with HR SMEs (recruiting, payroll, benefits, travel, etc.) to ensure organizational support is seamless and meeting the expectations of the organization.
  • Works with external legal counsel for processing of employee immigration visas.
  • Serves as primary point of contact for employees and managers for general HR related topics.
  • Works on special HR initiatives and time-sensitive projects as assigned.
  • Provides general support to other members of the HR team.


Required Education and Certifications

  • 5+ years or equivalent combination of education and experience in Human Resources
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field preferred


Required Skills and Abilities

  • Strong business acumen, problem-solving skills, critical thinking and demonstrates self-initiative.
  • Proven ability to influence and partner with business leadership and functional partners.
  • Experience in supporting organizational development, leadership development and/or change management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and communication (verbal and written) skills and must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Solid understanding of compliance with HR field and impact on the organization.
  • Must have ability to identify and assess problems and provide recommendations.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and demands.
  • Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to analyze data to make informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft computer applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, OneNote and PowerPoint.


Physical Demands and Travel Requirements

Physical Demands - Work is performed primarily in an office setting. Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, bend, crouch, hear, and talk (must be able to speak and communicate clearly with employees). Employee may lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Clear vision and depth perception are also necessary. Employee must be sharp, focused, and alert when interacting with employees, managers, and leadership personnel.

Travel Requirements - Minimal travel (less than 10%) is expected for this position.
