Job Summary

The duration of this assignment is anticipated to be 3 months.

This position will support the Division of Periodontology with a variety of responsibilities including extracting, organizing, and interpreting data from various sources, working independently and directly with data analysis, and research fellows; performing literature searches and synthesizing results concisely; assistant with drafting, and proofreading, and submitting manuscripts for publication; and writing and managing human subjects (Institutional Review Board) approvals within and outside of UCSF.

The project coordinator is responsible for supporting the Division of Periodontology and assists with developing procedures to ensure the effective operation of the division. Working closely with the Division Chief, the Project Coordinator will oversee various aspects of training grant administration, including meeting scheduling, educational materials, and communication.Applies professional concepts to conduct analytical studies or projects of moderate scope and complexity to address a variety of policy, research and procedural issues. Fully analyzes issues and problems, gathers data and information, finds and evaluates alternatives and makes sound recommendations.The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. Department Description

UCSF's Temporary Employment Program (TEP) recruits and hires temporary employees for immediate clerical and technical support services to UCSF Departments and various off-campus locations. UCSF departments deploy temporary employees to work on special projects, fill in for regular employees who are on vacation or leave, or to temporarily fill a vacant position during recruitment. Frequently temporary employees become successful candidates for career and limited appointment positions.

Required Qualifications

Working knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs.Proficient in communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.Demonstrates ability to analyze, research and synthesize large amounts of data with strong attention to detail.Ability to learn about regulatory issues and protocols (IRB and IACUC)

Preferred Qualifications

Proficient in ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.Experience working in a research administrative environment.Demonstrates ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.Proficient in ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
