Summary:The Director Individual Philanthropy will be a self-driven, front-line fundraiser on the Development and Communications team. The Director will play an important role in building the individual giving donor and prospect pools - with a focus on securing five- and six-figure plus gifts - manage a personal portfolio of major donors and prospects, partner with leadership on donor strategies, and contribute to cultivation and fundraising events.The Director of Individual Philanthropy will report to the VP Individual & Community Engagement and will work closely with Safe Horizon's Chief Development and Communications Officer, Chief Executive Officer, Board of Directors, executive leadership and other members of the Development and Communications team.

Key Responsibilities:Contribute to the Development team's annual revenue goals by securing renewed, increased, and/or new donations from individual donors at the $10K+ level.Manage, steward, and grow a personal portfolio of major donors and prospects, including select Board contacts, with a focus on building the major donor pipeline and pool.Collaborate with and advise executive leadership and Board of Directors on strategic and high-level fundraising strategies, which includes preparing briefings, ghost writing and follow up materials.With support from the Director of Prospect Research, identify and cultivate existing and new individual high-net-worth prospects from diverse backgrounds (e.g. BIPOC donors, women and non-binary people, survivors, etc.) with capacity to make five-, six-, and seven-figure gifts.Craft compelling and strategic donor communications, including personal correspondence, cultivation pieces, tailored proposals, invitations, reports, and acknowledgments.Partner with Director of Corporate Partnerships to identify high-level prospects within companies.Contribute to planning and execution of major fundraising events as well as virtual and in-person cultivation events.Track progress on revenue goals and key performance indicators in Salesforce, which will be informed by timely and accurate data input.Offer mentorship and coaching to Development and Communications colleagues on fundraising strategies and high-quality, authentic, relationship management.Qualifications:

Genuine appreciation for Safe Horizon's mission.8+ years of fundraising experience, with technical expertise in major gifts and individual donor portfolio management.Knowledge of planned giving and managing highly restricted gifts/grants preferred.Familiarity with East Coast philanthropy a plus.Proven track record of cultivating, closing, and stewarding six-figure plus gifts.Demonstrated commitment to anti-racism and experience engaging diverse demographic groups.Creative, entrepreneurial spirit.Best-in-class relationship building skills.Persuasive communication and presentation skills.Exceptional judgment and integrity.Thorough understanding of Salesforce and other relevant data management systems.Knowledge of issues facing victims of crime or abuse and/or experience working with vulnerable populations.

This position is currently on a hybrid schedule with 2 days per week on site and 3 days per week remote.

83,500.00 - 100,000.00 Salaried
