Figure 8 Tea Project is a minority-owned small business based in Los Angeles, CA. For the past two years, we've brought our unique tea and boba experiences to various pop-ups across the city. Now, we're excited to announce our expansion into a new location at the Original Farmers Market! 6333 W 3rd St, Los Angeles, CA 90036

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead our establishment and ensure operational and financial excellence. The ideal candidate will have a passion for tea and boba, a strong commitment to customer service, and proven leadership abilities. As General Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations, manage a high-performing team, and maintain the highest standards of hospitality, safety, and efficiency. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and organized individual to take a leadership role in a fast-paced, thriving environment. You’ll be working closely with the owners, who will be actively involved and working alongside you.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management:

Lead daily operations, ensuring Safety, Cleanliness, Quality, and Speed while upholding our hospitality standards.

Build, recruit, and manage a high-performance team through effective selection, training, and performance management.

Foster a positive and supportive team environment that promotes open communication and collaboration.

Operations Management:

Oversee kitchen operations, including inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness and organization.

Manage all operational support functions such as Purchasing, Receiving, and Inventory to maintain operational excellence and financial health.

Ensure that the facility and all equipment meet the highest standards, prioritizing Safety and Cleanliness.

Customer Service:

Ensure excellent customer service standards are maintained, addressing customer feedback, and ensuring a positive dining experience that fosters customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Maintain the ambiance by overseeing decor, lighting, music, and other elements that contribute to a welcoming atmosphere.

Financial Management:

Develop and manage budgets, handle cash management, reconcile sales, and ensure profitability through effective resource allocation.

Implement financial strategies, including sales forecasting and cost control, to maintain financial health.

Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure compliance with local labor laws, FDA food safety requirements, and Loss Prevention measures.

Conduct regular inspections and implement food safety practices to ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations.

Menu Development & Marketing:

Collaborate on menu development, including pricing, portion control, and the implementation of new offerings.

Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract customers, increase sales, and promote the brand.

Staff Development:

Develop and implement training programs to improve staff performance, knowledge, and consistency in operations.

Provide ongoing support and guidance to staff, assisting with problem-solving and operational challenges as needed.

Administrative Duties:

Handle administrative tasks such as record-keeping, payroll processing, and reporting to senior management.

Experience & Skills Required:

At least 3 years of experience in the food industry, preferably in a management role.

Proven experience in restaurant management, including kitchen operations, budgeting, and customer service.

Strong knowledge of food safety and handling regulations.

Experience with training, staff development, and fostering a positive team environment.

Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities effectively.

Familiarity with restaurant management practices, including scheduling, labor management, and sales forecasting.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and assist with food preparation as needed.
