Monday-Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm. Some evenings and weekends, and special event or emergency support as needed.Job Summary:Under the general direction of the Head of IT, the IT Support Specialist II delivers comprehensive support for hardware and software systems across the Museum. Position duties include advanced troubleshooting, hardware and network maintenance, software support, and collaboration across departments for technology-related initiatives.Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with a strong emphasis on documentation and internal customer support.Strong organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills and the ability to work with diplomacy and tact.Basic knowledge of TCP/IP networking, network infrastructure, and Wi-Fi networks.Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Apple macOS hardware and software.Experience in hardware maintenance and upgrades for desktops, laptops, and servers as well as software installations and upgrades.Experience in running Cat5/6 network cabling.Honesty, integrity, enthusiasm, perspective, and a strong work ethic supported by commitment and follow-through.Ability to work within and support a diverse community of visitors, artists, and employees.Working Conditions and Atmosphere:The IT Support Specialist II works with minimum supervision. Work will often be performed with short deadlines and situations sensitive to the Museum. Regular office hours are required. Due to the nature of the responsibilities, evening and weekend work is sometimes required, and at times may be on an emergency basis.The employee must be able to fulfil all Essential Duties with or without a reasonable accommodation.
