Job Overview:

A law firm in Los Angeles, CA, seeks a highly experienced and motivated Life Science IP Partner. The successful candidate will bring a substantial portable book of business ($600,000+) and demonstrate a strong track record in life science intellectual property matters. This role involves handling various prosecution, transactional, and litigation issues within the life sciences sector.Duties and Responsibilities:Manage and develop a portfolio of life science IP matters, including prosecution, transactional, and litigation activities.Represent clients in negotiations, drafting, and enforcing intellectual property agreements.Lead and oversee complex IP litigation cases, including pre-trial, trial, and post-trial activities.Provide strategic advice on IP portfolio management and intellectual property strategies in the life sciences industry.Cultivate and maintain client relationships to ensure ongoing business and referrals.Collaborate with other partners and legal professionals to address client needs and business objectives.Stay updated on industry trends, legal developments, and changes in IP law relevant to life sciences.Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and support staff.Requirements:Extensive experience as a partner or senior associate in a law firm focusing on life science IP matters.Proven track record of maintaining a portable and consistent book of business valued at $600,000+.Expertise in IP prosecution, transactional, and litigation work related to life sciences.Demonstrated ability to manage complex legal matters and provide strategic legal counsel.Strong business development skills with a history of cultivating and sustaining client relationships.Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or a related field is preferred.Certifications:Admission to the State Bar of California.Skills:In-depth knowledge of intellectual property law as it pertains to life sciences.Proficiency in managing a diverse caseload with a strategic approach.Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.Exceptional client relationship management skills.Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Superior research, writing, and analytical skills.
