Manager, Licensing and Contracting

Incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the contracting operational activities in the Field Services area. Responsibilities include supervising and directing a team of Agent Contracting specialists to ensure that contracting work is processed timely, accurately and in accordance with acceptable standards and regulations. Additional responsibilities include the resolution of escalated agent contracting files and maintaining service standards that meet or exceed the expectations of our distribution partners. The successful candidate will be required to work closely with field distribution, new business, agencies and agents to identify workflow issues, develop solutions and effectively execute action plans in a fast paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team to ensure that agent contracting work is processed timely, accurately and in accordance with acceptable standards and regulations
  • Collaborate with other Field Services leaders, as well as internal and external partners to effectively solution escalated issues related to agent contracting
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationship with distribution partners with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service
  • Develop and maintain productivity and quality metrics; identify and action continuous improvement opportunities for agent contracting
  • Ensure that the business area is following established processes; monitor and maintain compliance based requirements (annuity training, anti-money laundering training, errors & omissions coverage etc); conduct and coordinate audits as needed
  • Responsible for staffing, training, employee development, goal setting and performance management

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5-10 years of business experience in the life and annuity industry preferred; solid understanding of distribution, marketing and operations required
  • Exceptional Customer Focus; keen appreciation for the needs and interests of our distribution partners; ability to navigate and influence effectively in a fast-paced business environment
  • Excellent problem- solving skills; ability to get things done, breaking down barriers, identifying/executing solutions that will work and strong documentation abilities
  • Strong organization and time management skills, including follow up and follow through
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in a collaborative work environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to continuous improvement is essential
  • Ability to exercise tact, discretion and good judgment; ability to work under pressure and get things done quickly and effectively through others
  • Demonstrated strength in building effective teams and developing direct reports
  • Strong PC skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access)
  • Ability to Must be able to pass a background check
The base compensation range represents the low and high end of the compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to qualifications, skills, competencies, location, and experience. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual bonus, quarterly bonuses, commissions, and other long-term incentive compensation, depending on the position.
