Internship Summary:
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) is seeking applicants that are eager to learn about Human Resources and are looking for an internship opportunity! As a KBI Human Resources Intern, you will:
Learn various functions of the KBIAssist with various KBI Recruitment Functions;Develop efficiencies in processes and procedures;Support the KBI Human Resources Office and KBI Executive Staff as needed.Direct duties will include:
Personnel file auditing and maintenanceForm I-9 and Everify processingRecruitmentLocal and federal complianceGaining HRIS experienceThis engagement will give the intern opportunity to learn basic aspects of human resources and how it applies to the agency's essential services while giving them the experience of public service. It also allows the agency to contribute to the growth and development of this necessary skillset for our state's workforce.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
College sophomore, junior or senior, or graduate student majoring in human resource management, criminal justice, business administration or related degree.Desired Skills:
Computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook;Excellent written and verbal communication skills;Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment;Self-Starter;Positive Attitude;Excellent problem solving skills;Ability to maintain confidentiality;Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements
As a condition of employment, you will be subject to a pre-employment process to include a polygraph examination, fingerprint based records check, and comprehensive background investigation, including reference check of past and present employers.
