Seeking a cause driven leader ready to support the success of young people who are ready to enter the workforce! The Workforce Development Director is a NEW role to the Crossroads YMCA organization. We are ready to launch a Youth Workforce Development Program in Lake County, IN. We are looking for a trailblazer with a passion for working with teens and understands the need for career development.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Workforce Development Director will be responsible for working alongside operational leaders in the development, implementation, and administration of the YMCA Career Development (CDP) teen programs to increase employment and career development opportunities for teens. This position will play a vital role in executing the three components to the program: (1) comprehensive employment training, (2) career coaching, and (3) job placement. The Workforce Development Director will recruit, train, and coach program participants. This position will ensure quality experiences for participants by connecting them to opportunities that complement and enhance their academic, personal, and professional goals. Developing, supporting, and retaining successful strategic community partnerships will be critical to this position as Crossroads YMCA continues to advance the organization in the workforce development and career readiness field.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Develop and launch a teen program that achieves career readiness and workplace development.

Provide leadership and set vision for the CDP association wide. This includes setting and communicating quality and fidelity standards, program deadlines, and creating and sharing training/resources.

Develop and implement an effective evaluation strategy that documents participant success and measures the tangible impact and overall program quality.

Monitor program quality and fidelity in conjunction with YMCA center staff, community partners, and educators in the respective fields.

Steward corporate partner/volunteer relationships.

Ensure that the onboarding and training process is smooth for participants and volunteers. Check-in regularly with participants, volunteers and staff and address issues as they arise.

Represent Crossroads YMCA in community collaboratives/partnerships/coalitions in our service areas.

Support program expansion and growth as directed in Crossroads YMCA Strategic Plan.

Serve as a liaison between the corporate and centers as it relates to grant management and reporting, as well as collecting and reporting outcome and community impact program data for the association as well as individual centers.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelors degree in human services, social work, education, or related field.

Minimum 1 - 2 years experience in workforce development or career readiness.

Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR/AED & First Aid.

New Leader Orientation and online training required.

Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Able to work independently and with minimal supervision.

Organized and detail oriented.

Experience with Microsoft and Google Applications.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Visual, auditory, and verbal ability to communicate effectively.

Must have high level of alertness, concentration, and initiative.

Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time; occasionally stoop/bend.

Maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times.
