Description

The GIS Analyst II provides support to the entire team through map production, analysis of vector and raster datasets, spatial data conversions, creation of spatial datasets for web map applications, and any other assistance necessary to meet the needs of the company.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

Create feasibility, project overview and other project related map exhibits using ArcGIS Desktop software.Develops and maintains geodatabases, reports, and maps.Creates, organizes, manipulates, and retrieves GIS data for reporting, analysis, and presentation purposes.Performs quality assurance of GIS and related data.Assist in creating project focused web maps and GIS web applications.Work in collaborative integrated teams of professionals that include civil engineers, planners and surveyors.Knowledge, skills and abilities:

Knowledge of geographic information systems, databases, and spatial data.Experience with creating queries using Arcade and SQL languages.Ability to learn software applications used in the daily operations of the business.Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.Education, certification and experience:

At least 2 years of professional experience using Esri ArcGIS Pro/Desktop software.Associate's or Bachelor's degree in GIS, geography, planning, computer science, or a related technical field with emphasis in geographic information systems (GIS) from an accredited college or university.Directly related experience may be substituted for the college requirement on the basis of one and one-half years of experience for one year of education to a maximum of four years.Physical Requirements:

This is largely a sedentary role. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate project plans both orally and in writing.The employee is occasionally required to move about the office to operate office productivity machinery or maneuver through a construction site safely.May require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
