rr Position Summary:

rThe College of Letters, Arts, and Social Sciences (CLASS) Director of Student Recruitment and Retention plays a key role in the development and implementation of college-level undergraduate and graduate student recruitment strategies, and growing undergraduate and graduate student enrollment. The director must employ excellent data gathering and assessment skills in judging targeted and effective academic program markets. The director must explore and develop innovative ideas for communications and will encourage others to engage and better understand career paths within CLASS.

This position reports to the Dean or designee in the College of Letters, Arts, and Social Sciences.

This position is charged with:

Growing academic undergraduate and graduate program enrollment across all College programs, in all locations and for residential and distance programs

{=html} - Tracking and reporting enrollment data, and analyzing enrollment trends

{=html} - Examining capacity of undergraduate and graduate programs

{=html} - Developing strategies and tactics for enhancing undergraduate and graduate student recruitment (yield and new applications) and undergraduate and graduate program markets

{=html} - Collaborating with Strategic Enrollment Management to identify promising academic markets, strengthening recruitment (i.e., increasing student yield and new applications) and communication outreach in markets with promise

{=html} - Working with undergraduate and graduate programs in identifying signature program areas of distinction

{=html} - Coordinating with College Student Services and University Strategic Enrollment Management, and University Marketing and Communications or the CLASS Communications and Marketing Strategist

{=html} - Working closely with the Dean\'s office, the CLASS Recruitment and Communications team, Student Services Directors, department chairs and coordinators, UI Financial Aid, UI Career Center, community colleges, high schools, and other entities where prospective undergraduate and graduate students are located

{=html} - Exploring, developing, and coordinating the College\'s communications for undergraduate and graduate student recruitment (i.e., yield and new applications) and retention

{=html} - Lead and contribute to the development of annual marketing and enrollment plans for CLASS undergraduate and graduate academic programs

rr Minimum Qualifications:

r

Bachelor\'s Degree

{=html} - Two years of recruitment and/or retention experience

{=html} - Conducted market and growth assessments or closely related information handling and analyses

{=html} - Compiling and disseminating information, and planning, organizing, and promoting information

{=html} - Identifying and defining problems and developing recommendations

{=html} - Developing and presenting communication materials and information

{=html} - Speaking publicly to small and large groups

{=html} - Experience utiliz ng information/data to make process and/or programmatic improvements/changes

{=html} - Experience editing and writing business correspondence using proper grammar and punctuation as demonstrated in application materials

{=html} - Experience implementing public relations promotional strategies

rr Preferred Qualifications:

Master\'s degree in a CLASS discipline, Communications, or related field

{=html} - Experience building enrollments, or customer/client numbers or engagement

{=html} - Knowledge of local, state, and national markets related to CLASS disciplines and areas of employment

{=html} - Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with clientele and internal support services, and external entities and partners

{=html} - Demonstrated understanding of public relations and marketing principles

{=html} - Effective writing, organizing, time management, public relations and interpersonal communications

{=html} - Experience using cloud-based video communication technology

{=html} - Social media platform engagement
