Agility Partners is seeking a qualified Cobol Compiler to fill an open position with one of our banking clients. This exciting opportunity involves writing programs to maintain and control computer systems software for operating systems, networked systems, and database systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for modifying existing software, designing and developing software systems, consulting with engineering staff, and advising customers about maintenance of software systems.Responsibilities:Modify existing software to correct errors, adapt it to new hardware, or upgrade interfaces to improve performance.Design and develop software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict outcomes.Consult with engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, develop specifications, and resolve customer problems.Advise customers about maintenance of software systems and oversee software system testing and validation procedures.The Ideal Candidate

Qualifications:Verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and customer service orientation.Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle.Proficiency in troubleshooting and making system changes.Experience with ZOS IBM COBOL, IBM Job Control Language (JCL), Endevor Source Management, and CICS COBOL.Bachelor's degree in computer science or a relevant field, or equivalent work experience required.6 to 8 years of experience in a similar role.
