Job Details

The Accounting Manager will oversee and manage the company's accounting functions, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. This role is pivotal in maintaining financial integrity and supporting strategic decision-making processes within our agriculture-focused operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, with experience in the agriculture sector being highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and analyses to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and regulations.

Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans in collaboration with other departments to support business objectives.

General Ledger Management: Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger, including reconciliations, adjustments, and reporting.

Compliance and Auditing: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits.

Accounts Payable and Receivable: Supervise accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions.

Payroll Management: Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with applicable laws and company policies.

Cost Accounting: Monitor and analyze cost trends related to agricultural operations, including production costs, inventory valuation, and margin analysis.

Financial Analysis: Provide financial insights and recommendations to support operational decisions and strategic initiatives.

Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.

Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the accounting department.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role. Experience in the agriculture industry is highly desirable.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar). Strong Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems.

Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.

Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.

Leadership: Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
