Job Details

We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Stop Loss Underwriter to join our fast-paced team. This exciting role offers the opportunity to work on innovative stop loss insurance projects, delivering exceptional results for our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in underwriting, property casualty, and loss prevention. If you are passionate about risk assessment and have a keen eye for detail, then this could be the perfect role for you.

Responsibilities:

  1. Evaluating and pricing stop loss insurance risks in accordance with company underwriting guidelines and risk appetite.
  2. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  3. Analyzing complex data sets to identify patterns, trends, and potential risks.
  4. Collaborating with the loss prevention team to implement strategies that minimize risk and maximize profitability.
  5. Providing technical guidance and support to junior underwriters and other team members.
  6. Staying up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and advancements in technology to continually improve underwriting processes and strategies.
  7. Participating in negotiation of terms and conditions with brokers and clients.

Qualifications:

  1. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Senior Underwriter or in a similar role.
  2. Proven experience in Stop Loss Insurance, Property Casualty, and Loss Prevention.
  3. A deep understanding of underwriting principles, risk assessment techniques, and pricing strategies.
  4. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions based on detailed analysis.
  5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  6. The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  7. A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced insurance designations such as CPCU, ARM, or CIC are preferred.
  8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience with underwriting systems and tools.
