Job Description: We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate School-Based Occupational Therapist to provide specialized services to students with diverse needs near Cordova, MD. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children in an educational setting, a strong understanding of occupational therapy principles, and a commitment to helping students achieve their maximum potential. Key Responsibilities: Conduct evaluations to assess students fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing abilities, and overall functional performance. Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and occupational therapy goals tailored to each student's needs. Provide direct therapy services, including one-on-one and small group sessions, to support students in achieving their functional and educational goals. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to integrate therapeutic strategies into the classroom environment and daily routines. Monitor and document student progress, adjusting therapy plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes. Provide training and support to teachers and parents on strategies to enhance students independence and participation in school activities. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development and review of IEPs. Maintain accurate and confidential records of therapy sessions, student progress, and communication with families. Stay current with advancements in occupational therapy and participate in professional development opportunities. Qualifications: Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution. Current Delaware State License in Occupational Therapy. Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) preferred. Experience working with children in a school or pediatric setting is highly desirable. Strong clinical skills with knowledge of evidence-based practices in occupational therapy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with students, families, and school staff. Ability to work independently and as part of a team within an educational setting. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
