POSITION TITLE : Director, Admissions and Recruitment

DEPARTMENT:

Admissions/Student Services and Enrollment Management

PRIMARY LOCATION:

Fall River, with occasional travel to all Bristol campus locations.

REPORTS TO:

Vice President, Student Services and Enrollment Management

POSITIONS SUPERVISED:

Full-time and part-time unit and non-unit staff in the Admissions area.

POSITION STATUS:

This is a full-time, non-unit position with benefits, some nights and weekends required.

SALARY:

Hiring salary range $99,144.00 - $104,163.17, commensurate with education and experience.

STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

The Director of Admissions and Recruitment oversees a comprehensive and dynamic student recruitment, outreach, and admissions program. Reporting to the Vice President of Student Services and Enrollment Management, the Director will supervise the Admissions team, which includes Admissions Coordinators and Admissions Clerks, while also working closely with the entire Enrollment Leadership Team. The Director is also responsible for collaborating and managing important relationships across the college, including those in areas such as Academic Affairs, College Access, Strategic Analytics, Assessment, Administration and Finance, Campus Deans, and all areas within the Student Services and Enrollment Management team. The Director also works closely with external partners to deliver recruitment and outreach events. This position is responsible for implementing recruitment and enrollment activities identified through the college's strategic plan and the strategic enrollment plan. The successful candidate will have experience working with various college admissions tools, including a Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) system, online applications, and a Student Information System. The position's efforts are directed strategically toward meeting the college's enrollment goals at all four campuses and online, and toward meeting the educational and equity goals of the community, as we aim to create a college-going culture in Bristol County. In addition to leading the team, the Director also engages directly with prospective and current students.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop, implement, and assess a comprehensive strategic recruitment plan for all Bristol campuses and online programs that is data informed and aligns with the mission and vision of the college.

Implement program and demographic-specific recruitment initiatives with targeted and intentional enrollment events delivered through multiple modalities.

Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals and objectives that align with the strategic recruitment plan and institutional strategic plan.

Execute elements of the institutional strategic enrollment plan and inform new initiatives related to future enrollment goals.

Serve as a thought partner with the Vice President for Student Services and Enrollment Management (SSEM) and other members of the SSEM Leadership Team, on all aspects of recruitment, retention, and student completion. Inform college leadership on prospective student interests and other market demands for credit and noncredit programs.

Implement statewide initiatives aimed at increasing enrollment, including MassEducate, MassReconnect, Early College, and Tuition Equity, in collaboration with other members of the Enrollment Leadership Team.

Implement technological resources that scale, amplify, and measure the effectiveness of enrollment initiatives, in partnership with Information Technology Services.

Partner with the Academic Leadership Team to inform the appropriate mix of program offerings and to implement program-level enrollment initiatives.

Collaborate with members of the SSEM Leadership Team to develop and implement a seamless onboarding experience for new and returning students.

Create, maintain, update, and document student-ready policies, processes, and operating procedures that create efficiencies and remove barriers to student enrollment.

Build, foster, and strengthen community partnerships to advance a college-going culture across Bristol County; Coordinate Bristol's participation in and representation at signature events in communities across all service areas.

Promote a culture of exceptional customer service across the Admissions team in support of student success.

Prepare and monitor annual operational budgets for all departmental programs and activities.

Manage the day-to-day operations of the Admissions Office, including report generation, budget planning, policy and procedure review, and assessment.

Monitor, evaluate, analyze and enhance operational effectiveness and implement changes as required for continuous improvement. Develop measurable outcomes and benchmarks for improvement in service delivery.

Develop a standard mechanism for collecting data to assess the effectiveness of the services provided as they relate to admissions and recruitment efforts.

Engage in meaningful data analysis including disaggregation of student data to assess equitable outcomes for students. Provide timely reports and analysis to various internal stakeholders, including but not limited to the President's Leadership Team, Student Services and Enrollment Leadership Team, Academic Leadership Team, and Strategic Analytics.

Provide strategic vision, administrative direction, and direct supervision to Admissions team members at all Bristol locations.

Oversee the recruitment, selection, training, and evaluation of staff members in respective departments at all Bristol locations. Conduct regular performance evaluations to ensure continuous improvement and identify potential opportunities for growth. Work closely with Human Resources to develop staff capabilities and expectations.

Maintain current professional knowledge about promising practices, emerging trends, and industry standards related to student advising and success; actively engage with professional organizations to stay current on professional development.

Serve on various leadership councils for Student Services and Enrollment Management; lead and serve on various college committees, as needed.

Ensure departmental policies, procedures, and protocols comply with local, state, and federal policies and guidelines.

Conduct regular staff and supervisory meetings, as well as opportunities for training and professional development for advising and success staff members.

Use Bristol's digital communication tools to advance Bristol's social media outreach and brand.

Demonstrate a sense of professionalism and consistently reflect Bristol's core values while interacting with members of the Bristol community.

Focus on the Commonwealth's Equity Agenda by applying related best practices throughout all job functions.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

NOTE: Unless otherwise noted, all required qualifications must be met by date of hire.

Minimum of a Master's degree in higher education or related field.*

Progressive leadership, administrative and supervisory experience, with a minimum of four (4) years of experience in enrollment management, admissions, financial aid, registrar, student affairs, or a student services area within higher education.*

An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience shall be considered.

Successful history of collaboration with other areas of the institution to build effective relationships, particularly with Admissions, Financial Aid, Academic Affairs, and Information Technology Services.

Strong interpersonal, verbal/written communication, and organization skills that reflect inclusiveness, adaptiveness, and flexibility.

Demonstrated commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for all students through upholding the community college mission and serving the needs of first-generation and historically excluded populations.

Demonstrated commitment to embracing and serving the needs of a diverse community, including the ability to work effectively with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff.

Demonstrated proficiency with student information systems and Microsoft Office 365 applications.

Prior budget management experience.

Reliable transportation in order to travel to and from meetings, trainings, or campus and community locations as required.

Ability to work occasional nights and/or weekends.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Prior supervisory experience in a collective bargaining environment.

Prior experience working at a multi-campus community college.

Demonstrated knowledge of strategic enrollment and/or strategic recruitment planning.

Prior experience working in or overseeing a financial aid office, with particular focus on Title IV compliance.

Experience working with one or more of the following software packages: Slate, Ellucian Banner, Degree Works, Argos, and EAB/Navigate.

Ability to communicate in a language in addition to English.
