A social services organization in New York City is actively seeking a Senior Accountant to join their staff.
Responsibilities
The Senior Accountant will:Prepare and review program financial statements as well as program related reports and project analysisVerify bank transactions to source documents and perform bank reconciliations and promptly follow-up on outstanding itemsReview program transactions and review, establish, and reconcile monthly mortgage billing to projectsRespond to inquiries from projects, internal and external auditors, agency staff and other state agencies, where necessaryPrepare program delinquency reports and analysisPrepare requisition of fundsReview and document internal controlsPerform other duties as requiredQualifications
3+ years of related Accounting experienceBachelor's Degree in AccountingMortgage and Bank Reconciliation experienceSolid understanding of Financial Securities & InvestmentsComputer savvyMicrosoft Office proficientSolid analytical and mathematical skillsGreat interpersonal skillsExcellent communication skills (written and verbal)Strong attention to detailHighly organizedDesired Skills:
Experience using industry SAP system(s)
