What you will do: Execute buy and sell orders for municipal securities across various sectors and duration buckets. Seek best execution for client accounts taking into account varying market conditions, liquidity constraints, trade sizing, investment guidelines, credit factors, regulatory requirements, and technical market aspects. Assist portfolio managers and trading head with the development and execution of the firm’s SMA and core municipal strategy along with other new ventures. Monitor primary market calendar to identify income and total return opportunities that are appropriate for client accounts. Balance liquidity needs across various client accounts. Manage complex allocations across multiple accounts to ensure fair and balanced distribution and diversification. Develop and maintain strong relationships with other market participants, particularly in the high-grade municipal space. Articulate portfolio strategies both internally and externally. Participate in regularly scheduled risk oversight meetings. Assist portfolio managers and trading with SMA technology development and implementation. The qualities you should have: Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, or related field; MBA or CFA a plus. 7+ years of high-grade municipal trading experience, either in asset management or dealer setting. An advanced understanding of risk and liquidity pricing and management. Experience or working knowledge of the separately managed account (SMA) business preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Collaborative, team-oriented mindset required. Entrepreneurial attitude and flexibility in responding to needs of growing business; ability to pivot quickly among various tasks. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Base Salary range: $190,000 to $230,000. In addition, this role is eligible for an annual incentive bonus.
