This position is responsible for working collaboratively with the Managing Director of Transportation Operations, Senior Director of Services, and International Rail to support activities for the Transportation Team across the enterprise. This position leads and directs all activities for the Strategy Team while finding ways to strategically improve freight activities across the enterprise. It drives the strategy for current and future transportation needs of Tyson Foods Private Fleet and Contract Carrier group for all inbound and outbound requirements.This position is responsible for developing sustainable strategies to secure and select carrier capacity (ocean, rail, trucking, and air) to determine optimal use of fleet and contracted assets to deliver a competitive value for a freight spend in excess of $1.3 billion and with over 1,000,000 annual customer and plant shipments. It also oversees the strategic operations of the Tyson Fleet Operations Team and the management of over 1,100 tractors and 2,400 refrigerated trailers with an operating plan of $38M in EBIT.Specific Responsibilities Include:Meeting or exceeding departmental service goals; achieving financial objectives and key metrics.Planning and optimizing contract carrier and fleet assets to minimize overall freight spend.Finding new ways to improve dispatch plans to meet daily business needs.Applying continuous improvement methods to achieve financial and business objectives while working with distribution leadership.Designing, developing, and delivering the organization’s approach to strategy and strategic planning for contracted and purchased assets.Leading a diverse team in finding new and innovative ways to secure transportation needs with the best possible service and volume.Developing risk mitigation strategies for all supply and cost risks while managing overall department freight performance.Leading and directing the Strategic functions for the Tyson Transportation TEAM across the enterprise.Developing and implementing enterprise strategies for annual RFPs for competitively priced Ocean, Rail, and Air Freight service contracts.Developing and implementing strategic long-range plans and annual operating plans for the deployment of Tyson rail fleets.Responsible for the sourcing and procurement of all Enterprise Transportation necessary to support the business units via Ocean, Rail, Truck, and Air Freight modes.Requirements:Education:

Bachelor's degree in logistics or business.Experience:

10+ years of logistics or related experience preferred.Special Skills:

Knowledge or background in Rail Operations and AAR rules of operation is a plus. Understanding of USDA, FMC, and CBP as it relates to transportation and foreign documentation.Supervisory:

Will supervise two or more groups in Transportation Customer Service.Travel:
