Why does the job exist?This position provides specialized support and customer service in the highly automated environment of the State Centralized Fleet Authority Bureau of the Transportation Services Division. How does it get done?This position is responsible for: - Processing all walk-in and on-line fleet reservations. - Pre-trip inspections of vehicles.- Ensuring vehicles are ready for dispatch.- Verifying driver licenses and defensive driving certificates.- Pre-auditing vendor invoices and data entry of each invoice into vehicle database.- Auditing and screening user agency vehicle maintenance, mileage and physical condition of each vehicle.- Conducting vehicle inspections, monthly mileage reporting, and auditing assigned user department fuel data for unauthorized usage and expenses. Who are the customers?Executive and Judicial agencies that utilize TSD Services. Ideal Candidate- Experience in Vehicle Fleet- Experience with Program and Data management.- Experience dealing with customers Minimum QualificationHigh School diploma or Equivalency and two (2) years of experience in office administration, budgeting, purchasing, finance, accounting, auditing, cash management and/or contract management. Substitution TableThese combinations of education and experience qualify you for the position: Education Experience 1 High School Diploma or Equivalent AND 2 years of experience 2 Associate's degree or higher (Bachelor's, Master's) AND 0 years of experience •Education and years of experience must be related to the purpose of the position. •If Minimum Qualification requires a specific number of "semester hours" in a field (e.g. 6 semester hours in Accounting), applicants MUST have those semester hours in order to meet the minimum qualifications. No substitutions apply for semester hours.Employment RequirementsThis is a safety sensitive position; therefore, pre-employment drug testing will be conducted and is subject to random drug testing, as a condition of continued employment. Selected candidate must have and maintain a current and valid Driver¿s License, free of all restrictions. Selected candidate must enroll and take the Defensive Driving Course, within five days of hire. Working ConditionsWork is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer work, with exposure to potential carpal-tunnel syndrome; extensive telephone usage and extended periods of sitting and frequent lifting of 30 to 60 lbs. Fast paced office setting including walking, standing, pushing, pulling, bending and reachin. Some travel required to attend training/certification classes, for vehicle inspections and for making vendor/customer presentations, as required. Must have the ability to operate a computer, vehicle management database and inventory control systems software, approximately 95% or the time.
