Job Duties:

A successful candidate will provide GIS support to a variety of energy sectors through the development of maps, databases, and spatial analyses.

The GIS Specialist will be expected to work in the Esri software platform (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ArcGIS Online) and be knowledgeable in the core environmental services that GAI offers its clients, such as wetland and stream delineation, state and federal permitting, and sensitive species surveys.

Assists with publishing and managing Enterprise GIS content, such as feature services and web maps, and configuring web apps.

Experience:

Required

Intermediate-level technical skills working with the Esri products suite, including ArcGIS Desktop/Pro with 3D Analyst & Spatial Analyst Extensions, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise (Portal), and other GIS software such as Google Earth Pro.

Intermediate-level experience publishing and managing feature services and using ArcGIS Online/Enterprise to develop and share web maps for use in Field Maps, Web AppBuilder, etc.

Understands how Esri's Offline Maps workflow functions and demonstrates an ability to author and share web maps for offline use.

Understands basic Enterprise (SDE) Geodatabase functionality and data administration workflows.

Preferred

2-4 years minimum of professional GIS experience

Experience in developing, publishing, and managing forms and surveys using Survey123 for ArcGIS a plus.

General Characteristics

Continues to show possesses basic skills; follows procedures; begins to develop critical thinking skills; ability to perform quality reviews of basic technical work; guides entry level technical staff; willingness to travel to expand experience base

Education

Bachelor's Degree from accredited college or university program in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Information Science/Technology, Geography or Cartography, Environmental Science with a certificate (preferred) or strong aptitude in GIS, and other relatedinformation sciences

Technical Responsibilities

Data collection including field anddata analysis; Project geodatabase design; data processing (GPS); map development (hard copy and digital); printing and plotting maps; uses web-based mapping applications/services; intermediate data analysis (links GIS tools); performs quality reviews of GIS technical work (data and maps); hands-on training with senior staff

Project and Task Management

Responsible for personal task management and adherence todeadlines and scope

Management Responsibility

Working well in a team environment with other environmental/engineering professionals; coordinating workwith entry level and other staff underthe supervision of Task Managers and senior staff.

Close supervision for difficult projects; general review on all aspects of project work

Communication Skills

Possesses basic oral and written communication skills; interacts with other staff; begins to interact with clients, Project Managers, and various Department Managerial Staff
